Ever wondered what to chat about with your daughter during a walk, a car ride, or while waiting in line? You know, besides the usual, “How was preschool/school/daycare?” (pick your version).
Here’s an idea that’s both fun and engaging for your little one: a Moana quiz!
This quiz is inspired by the movie Moana. All rights to the characters and storyline belong to Disney.
Even if you’re not exactly a huge fan of Moana, Maui, Hei Hei the rooster, or Pua the pig (unlike your daughter—though maybe some boys love Moana too?), these questions will help you spend quality time together and spark some giggles. Plus, it’s a great way to bond without needing extra prep.
If you haven’t watched Moana 1 yet — lucky you! You get to enjoy it for the first time. Here’s the trailer!
(It’s rated 7.6 out of 10 on IMDb, but after watching it a few times (ok, many), I’d give it a big 9 for sure! )
In this post, I’m sharing our favorite Moana quiz questions from Moana 1, divided into three fun difficulty levels—easy, medium, and hard.

How to use Moana Quiz
Depending on where you are and what you’re doing, you can use the quiz in three different ways:
- As a multiple choice game — just read straight from the table.
- Ask only the open-ended questions from the list.
- Show your child question cards (you can save them as photos on your phone ahead of time).

6 Fun Ways to Use This Quiz with Your Child
✅ Option 1: “On the Go”
1.1 In the car – You’re on a family trip, your partner’s driving, and you want to keep your child happy (and screen-free). Try this quiz instead of cartoons — better for the eyes and great for laughs!
1.2 While waiting – You’re sitting in a line or waiting room, and your child is getting bored. Pull out your phone, open the quiz, and turn waiting into playtime.
✅ Option 2: After Watching Moana 1
Just finished watching Moana together? This quiz is a fun way to remember what happened and test how much you both remember.
✅ Option 3: Before Watching Moana 2
Planning to watch Moana 2 soon? Use the quiz to help your child remember the first movie. It’s a great little warm-up!
✅ Option 4: Pair with a Book
We had a bright, beautiful Moana storybook once — and you can use this quiz after reading the book, or even before reading to get your child excited.
✅ Option 5: Use the quiz to bring back the magic of that Moana doll
You know how kids sometimes really want a toy… and then kind of forget about it later? Yep, same here. This Moana quiz is a fun way to bring their interest back to that Moana doll (or action figure set).
We had the doll and a set of little figures just like these — but from Moana 1.
✅ Option 6: Make It a Moana Day!
Dress up in a Moana costume (we had almost every Disney princess costume in our house until age 7!), watch the movie, use together Disney Moana Coloring & Activity Book with Moana Stickers, or make a Moana puzzle, and play the Moana quiz. And if you add a playlist with Moana songs on top of that…
Instead of a Conclusion
To me, the best kind of “quality family time” is time that everyone actually enjoys — simple, happy, and no stress. And no, it doesn’t have to be complicated or require a bunch of prep every time.
I hope this Moana Quiz and the ideas in this post help you have some fun, meaningful moments with your kids — whether it’s a cozy afternoon or just a quick break on the go.
